If your procedure cannot be performed because you failed to follow the instructions below you will be sent home. Please arrive prepared for your procedure. NO refunds will be given for any reason. It is your responsibility to comply with my instructions as part of our contractual agreement. If you are sent home, additional fees will be charged to re-book, recover lost time, and for procedural supplies that have been opened and discarded. Any additional, preparatory information that has been given to you must also be read and followed and is part of this form. Please be compliant for ALL PROCEDURES.
-
NO FACIAL MAKEUP is to be worn on procedure days, regardless of which facial area you are having tattooed. This is a cross-contamination issue. I am saving you from the possibility of an infection. In addition, long-lasting eyeliner, long-lasting mascara, and long-lasting foundation must be avoided for 2 DAYS BEFORE your procedure. Long-lasting colors or stains must be avoided for 5 DAYS BEFORE lip procedures.
-
NO NSAIDS or contraindicating medications or supplements for 7 DAYS BEFORE and 7 DAYS AFTER procedures. This list includes but is not limited to: Ibuprofen(Advil, Motrin), Naproxen (Aleve), Aspirin or baby Aspirin (Bayer, Excedrin, Bufferin), Migraine medications, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Flax Seed Oil, Turmeric and St. John’s Wort. Certain diets may be problematic as well, especially ones high in Omega 3’s.
-
PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS: Prescribed medications are NOT to be discontinued without the prescribing physician’s written clearance. Throwing Shade is not responsible for individuals who electively choose to stop taking prescribed health medication(s). If you will be taking prescription medication(s) that may alter your ability to see or drive, please arrange for alternate transportation in advance. Recreational drug use must be disclosed to the technician.
-
ANTIBIOTICS: Oral antibiotics may or may not influence the healing and/or the color of the tattoo. It is best to follow the instructions of the prescribed medicine and schedule your procedure when your physician feels it is safe to continue. Ideally, antibiotics should be out of your system for 2 WEEKS before a procedure.
-
NO COFFEE OR OTHER CAFFEINATED BEVERAGES on the DAY of your procedure. Caffeine intake blocks anesthetic and prolongs bleeding. You may resume your intake after your procedure.
-
NO ALCOHOL consumption for 48 HOURS BEFORE and 7 DAYS AFTER.
-
NO EXERCISE THE DAY OF & FOR 7 DAYS AFTER all procedures, NO EXCEPTIONS. Chlorinated pools, hot tubs, gyms, and saunas are unclean environments for a healing tattoo. Bacterial infections and poor healing may occur.
-
NO SUN EXPOSURE, SUNLESS TANNING OR SELF TANNER for 2 WEEKS AFTER your procedure. Tanning beds are considered an unclean environment for a healing tattoo.
-
ACCUTANE must be avoided for 12 MONTHS PRIOR to any facial procedures. All other medications/supplements must be investigated by the client.
-
LATISSE/RAPID LASH: Latisse must be avoided for 6 WEEKS BEFORE and resuming is not suggested on the treated area(s). Rapid Lash may be used 4 WEEKS AFTER your eyeliner procedure.
-
WAXING: Facial waxing should be performed no later than 2 DAYS BEFORE the procedure application and no sooner than 7 DAYS AFTER.
-
(For Eyeliner Procedure) EYELASH EXTENSIONS MUST BE PROFESSIONALLY REMOVED by your lash technician at least 24 HOURS BEFORE any eyeliner procedure. Throwing Shade will not remove extensions and will decline your service without refund if you fail to comply.
-
CONTACTS: If you wear contacts, you will need to bring a pair of glasses as most clients are unable to insert contacts after the procedure.
Post Procedural Care for Eyebrows
DAY 1: Please wash your hands with antibacterial soap before you touch/wash your eyebrows. Then wipe your eyebrows EVERY HOUR with brow wipes very gently and then apply a very thin layer of the aftercare ointment.
DAY 2-7: Keep eyebrows lightly glossed with the ointment 3 to 4 times a day for the next seven days. Do not overuse ointment. It should last you for seven days. Only apply a very thin layer. Do not suffocate your eyebrows.
-
Do not use any Retin-A. Glycolic Acids, Peroxide, or Neosporin while healing.
-
Do not scrub or pick your eyebrows.
-
Do not expose the area to sun or tanning beds! Must use hat if in the sun.
-
Avoid any facials, swimming, Whirlpools, or sauna for 7 days.
-
Do not exercise for the first 3 to 5 days. No heavy sweating!
-
No make-up on the Eyebrows.
-
Do not tint eyebrows for the next 10 days.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF PIGMENTS.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER MICROBLADING OR EYEBROW SHADING PROCEDURES:
-
Slight swelling, thickness, and/or redness for one or two days following the procedure.
-
It is normal to lose approximately 1/3 of the color during the healing process.
-
After the initial procedure, the color may be a shade too dark; in six days it will appear too light; after 10 days the color will show more.
-
It will appear softer when completely healed because the color will come from dermal layer of the skin to the epidermal layer of the skin.
-
Please be patient. Healing takes up to 30 days. In your next appointment, more hairs can be added and make them perfect. The brows are approximately 20 to 25% darker and bolder in width than they will be when healed. Your skin is red under the pigment which causes the color of the pigment to appear darker. There is some swelling, although difficult to actually see due to the thickness of the skin in the eyebrow area. This will subside. Exfoliation, which begins in a few days, will cause the excess pigment surrounding the eyebrow procedure to flake away and a narrower appearance of your eyebrows. Don’t be concerned that your eyebrows initially appear darker and heavier in size than you desire. This is all part of the process.
Post Procedural Care for Lip Blush
DAY 1: it is very important to remove the lymph fluid from the surface of the skin in order to avoid heavy scabbing. Before bed, if the lip still has some dry lymph, rinse with lukewarm water, gently removing the dry lymph, pat dry, and apply Aquaphor for healing ointment. Sometimes the lips can bruise even after the procedure. Bruising will subside within 24 hours post-procedure.
DAY 2-7: The lips may be swollen the second day as well. Please do not ice the lips. Keep the skin moist at all times, do not let lips dry out. Continue to apply ointment every 30 minutes throughout the day. Again, do NOT let the lips dry out.
DURING DAY 1 to DAY 7 (or until the scabs are gone) PLEASE AVOID: Water (on the PMU area) aside from cleaning them, makeup, excessive sweating, sauna pools, sunbathing, spicy foods, and kissing.
DO NOT: pick the dry lips. Do not apply anything besides ointment provided or Aquaphor ointment (no Vaseline, antibiotic creams, Polysporin, etc). Following the procedure, do not use creams that contain acid or ingredients that will lighten or exfoliate the skin. Touchups (if needed) can be done no sooner than eight weeks after the original appointment.
